Shipping

SlabTrack uses Shippo for label printing. By default you ride on the SlabTrack shared Shippo account — no setup needed. Optionally bring your own.

Out of the box

If you did nothing during onboarding except set a ship-from address, you're already wired up. Every order gets a Print Label button that calls our shared Shippo account. The label cost (~$4 USPS Ground Advantage for a slabbed card) is deducted from your Stripe balance at month-end.

Bring your own Shippo

If you have your own Shippo account (cheaper rates if you ship a lot), you can swap it in:

  1. Dashboard → Settings → Shipping
  2. Use my own Shippo account
  3. Paste your Shippo API token (Shippo dashboard → API → Live Token)
  4. Save → next label uses your account, your rates, your Shippo balance

Default parcel

SlabTrack pre-configures Shippo with a sensible default for slabbed cards:

FieldValue
Length6 inches
Width4 inches
Height1.5 inches
Weight4 oz
ServiceUSPS Ground Advantage
InsuranceNone (add manually for orders > $200)

For raw cards or small lots, you can override at print time:

  1. Click Print Label
  2. Click Customize parcel
  3. Adjust dimensions / weight / service / insurance
  4. Print

Packing standards (recommended)

Customers expect their cards arriving safely. Even a $20 sale with damaged packaging can become a $20 refund + a chargeback fee + a 1-star review.

For raw cards

💡 Add insurance for high-ticket

Anything over $200, add Shippo's USPS insurance (~$3 for $500 of coverage). For anything over $500, use USPS Priority Mail with a tracking + signature requirement. Disputes for "item not received" almost always lose without delivery confirmation.

International orders

SlabTrack supports US-only by default. To enable international:

  1. Dashboard → Settings → Shipping → International → enable
  2. Set country whitelist (e.g. Canada, UK, Australia, Japan)
  3. Customs forms get auto-generated by Shippo at print time (you fill in HS code: 9504.40 for trading cards)
⚠ Canada is the trickiest

Canada Post has stricter customs rules and slower delivery. Expect 2-3 weeks for delivery, more for "not received" disputes. If you're not ready for that customer-service overhead, leave international off and stay US-only.

Tracking emails

Customers get an email when:

These come from Shippo automatically — you don't have to set anything up.
